1 Introduction
The medical edition of the EC-135 includes seats for three EMS personnel and s stretcher for one patient. In addition to the stretcher, additional medical equipment is provided including an EKG monitor with defibrillator, straight oxygen, a ventilator, and an IV bag.
2 Stretcher
The Shergood EC135 EMS version utilizes a linked stretcher system. This allows you to use the stretcher in no rez-zones. It also includes ground detect technology that lets you push it over obstacles and up or down ramps. When in the aircraft, the stretcher sits in the rear on the left-hand side. Clicking on the stretcher brings up the following stretcher menu (options shown depend on context):

The stretcher menu is accessible to any avatar sitting in the aircraft, and is open based on settings for "Passenger" to anyone not in the aircraft.
To act as the patient on the stretcher, just right-click and sit. To push the stretcher, click to get the menu, then choose "Push". The stretcher will automatically orient itself in the direction you are facing and move as you walk. Note that as a "pusher" you are not actually sitting on the aircraft and your normal AO and walk animations will be in effect.
The stretcher includes detectors at both wheels that sense variations in the ground height and will adjust the slant of the stetcher to compensate. This allows you to go up/down ramps, or over small obstacles. The ground sense capability allows up to a +/- 1 meter deviation from the "standard" position in front of the pushing avatar.
The stretcher systems also includes an "autoload" feature. To use autoload, just push the stretcher into the back. When the system detects this, it will automatically load without the user needing to explicitly select the Load button from the menu.
3 EKG and Defibrillator
An EKG is installed and can be use on any patients in the helicopter. Press the green POWER button to turn it on/off. Leads from the EKG appear only when the system is on and a patient is in the stretcher. The heart rhythm of the patient will be displayed on the screen and a suitable tone will be heard.
3.1 Patient Condition
A patient condition menu can be accessed by clicking on the overhead panel in the medical bay when a patient is loaded into the aircraft. Conditions can be set for "Heart OK", "Hear Irreg", "Heart Fail" and "Fibrillation".
3.2 Defibrillator
When a patient is in Fibrillation, the defibrillator may be used to restore a normal heart rhythm. Use the ENERGY SELECT button to choose a charge level, the CHARGE button to charge the defibrillator and the SHOCK button to deliver the shock. More than one shock may be necessary to restore a normal rhythm. Note: Using the defibrillator on patients not in fibrillation is not recommended.
4 Other Equipment
Additional equipment include an oxygen mask, a ventilator an an IV drip. Each of these are engaged or disengaged by clicking on them and require that a patient be in the stretcher.
