An IFF code is used in conjunction with IFF (Identify Friend/Foe) transponders such as equipped on the Chinook. When aircraft using an IFF transponder are opperating in encrypted mode, they may only be seen on the radar page if the correct code is entered here. The IFF code is normally an 8-digit numeric code.
