SECTION 7. EMERGENCY PROCEDURES

1 Engine Failure

1.1 Engine Failure On Takeoff

  1. Simultaneously reduce collective pitch and apply aft cyclic.
  2. Maintain directional control with pedals
  3. Increase collective pitch to cushion landing
  4. Apply wheel brakes

1.2 Engine Failure During Climb

  1. Collective - FULL DOWN
  2. Cabin Occupants - ALERTED
  3. Tailwheel Lock - LOCKED
  4. Wheel brakes - OFF
  5. Shoulder harnesses - OFF
  6. At 75 feet - Aft cyclic to initiate flare
  7. At 15-20 knots - Forward cyclic to level aircraft
  8. Collective - Gradually increase to soften landing
  9. On ground contact - Collective full down
  10. Wheel brakes - APPLY

1.3 In-Flight Restart
