1 Start-Up
1.1 APU Start
- Battery ON
- Select EICAS on an MFD
- Verify battery voltage at 28V (V-B).
- APU GEN ON
- APU CTL ON
- APU AIR SRC ON
- Verify primary bus (V-P) voltage at 28V
- Verify adequate fuel
1.2 System Checks
- Verify MSTR CAUTION, #1 ENG OUT and #2 ENG OUT warning lights ON
- Lift collective slightly, verify horn and LOW RPM warning
- Rotor break OFF
- Anti-Col. ON (Upr and Lwr)
- Position Lights ON for night flight
1.3 Engine #1 Start
- #1 Ignition (IGN) ON
- #1 Fuel to DIRECT
- #1 Engine Control to IDLE
- Press and hold #1 Start
- Verify Engine #1 N1 at least 20%
- Verify Engine #1 N1 increase to 100%.
- AC Generator #1 ON
- DC Converter #1 ON
1.4 Engine #2 Start
- #2 Ignition (IGN) ON
- #2 Fuel to DIRECT
- #2 Engine Control to IDLE
- Verify Engine #2 N1 at least 20%
- Press and hold #2 Start
- Verify Engine #2 N1 increase to 100%
- AC Generator #2 ON
- DC Converter #2 ON
1.5 APU Shutdown and Emergency Systems
- APU AIR SRC OFF
- APU CTL OFF
- APU GEN OFF
- FIRE EXTG ARM
- ELT ARM
1.6 Flight Preparations
- Verify DOORS CLOSED
- Turn on Fasten Seatbelts
- Increase #1 and #2 Engine Control to FLY
- Verify Engine #1 and #2 N1 and N2 at 100%
- Verify rotor RPM at 100%
- Verify caution lights OFF
- Fly
2 Post-Start
2.1 Takeoff and Climb
- Pull collective until aircraft lifts into hover. Apply left pedal to maintain directional control.
- Apply forward cyclic and up collective for desired climb profile.
- Landing gear UP
- Slight down collective to level off. Control airspeed with cyclic.
- Seat Belt Sign OFF
2.2 Decent and Landing
- Landing gear DOWN
- Seat Belt Sign ON
- Lower collective to begin decent and apply back cyclic to maintain 60-80kts
- Nearing approach point, up collective and back cyclic to slow descent and approach rate
- Up collective and left pedal to transition to hover
3 Shut-Down
- #1 and #2 engine controls to IDLE
- Allow rotor RPM to stabilize
- #1 and #2 engine controls to OFF
- Rotor break ON when RPM below 50%
- All switches OFF
